Most widows are unaware that they qualify for Social Security survivor benefits off their deceased ex spouse.
I have found most people believe if their ex spouse remarried, only the new spouse could qualify for benefits. If you were married 10 years or more and later divorced, you can receive 100% of your ex’s Social Security. However, this is only if you are currently single. So even if you remarried but later divorced you still can qualify.
